Everyone at school knows Jeffrey plays his cello well, but no one wants to play with the introvert. One day, the band members at school accidentally discover Jeffrey's capability of playing pop music, and then they invite him to join the band, so that they could win the upcoming music competition. After Jeffrey joining the rehearsal of the band, he gets his first taste of friendship. However, Phoebe, Jeffrey's mother, thinks that playing pop music is only a waste of his time and talent. Phoebe forces Jeffrey to quit the band and school eventually, and then she asks him to focus solely on his practice on classical music. Jeffrey cannot stand his mother anymore. At the end he kills himself to protest against his mother's will.
