The Blossoming of The Country Maiden

The Blossoming of the Country Maiden is a mockumentary about the making of the first Filipino feature film.

It's 1919, and inventor Jose Nepomuceno attempts to become the first Filipino filmmaker. He leads a motley crew of filmmakers as they figure out the perils and joys of making movies. Chaos ensues.

This film was funded by the Japan Foundation, Manila, the Philippine Italian Association, Instituto Cervantes de Manila, the Goethe-Institut, the British Council in the Philippines, the Embassy of France, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines. It won the Jury Prize and Best Musical Score at the 15th International Silent Film Festival, Manila.
