'Slapped', is a short film about a physically abused young woman in an incompatible arranged marriage. A story that resonates with the plight of thousands of women all over the world but few still come forward due to stigma, hurt and shame. But is that all to it?

The film takes us through a dialogue between the oppressor and the oppressed and raises a lot of questions on the prevalent desensitization of such assaults.

We hope that our film, which is a complete virtual collaboration between artists stranded due to the pandemic in various places in India and Singapore, stands as an example where artists transcend catastrophic difficulties to make art.
