Tanya, a Russian dancing girl new to China, meets a Chinese boy Youzi who is not local, either. They find sustenance in each other out of loneliness, even though they speak different languages. Tanya plans to invite Youzi to see tigers, but Youzi leaves the city without saying goodbye.
