Peter's Last Semester

Coming from a poor urban community in the Philippines, Peter is an underprivileged graduating student struggling to cope with school demands during a pandemic. Due to the stringent lockdown, all classes and other school activities are conducted online. During his online thesis oral defense, Peter's internet connection suddenly disconnects because it reached its internet data consumption limit. This incident has dented his chances of being included in the list of graduates. While dealing with his difficulties to finish his academic requirements, he is also burdened by the troubles of his impoverished family. They are left with a few relief goods and an exhausted budget to make both ends meet. To make matters worse, his father is confined in the hospital due to COVID-19 infection. His mother is also denied of receiving cash aid from the government. Despite these, Peter is determined to comply with his requirements. He loans prepaid mobile load from the local store to have internet access. He even stays at the top of their roof to get a clear mobile signal. His propulsion to finish his studies is driven by his mother's expectation on him to raise his family out of poverty. Peter's last semester will decide his and his family's future.
