After living a mundane and repetitious lifestyle for at least 30 years, an old hawker by the name of Uncle Sim has gradually lost his passion for cooking, and for the tradition. In order to keep the tradition going, and to fulfil a promise he made to his father, he must find a successor that is deemed worthy in the eyes of this old hawker. However, upon the arrival of a willing apprentice, Benjamin, he also has his own ideas of what is called tradition. With the little amount of time left to search for this worthy successor, Uncle Sim must accept his newest apprentice, or else, the stall’s tradition will be lost for good.
