A woman reunites with her childhood friends on a beach camp after their grade school teacher dies but when the morning comes, she discovers them missing. The waves of the sea bring something back in return, spectres of the missing and of things she thought she lost.

Anak Dagat is a fable, magic-realist but through the perspective of a woman on emotional journey. Rita who is recovering from a failed relationship seeks attention from her childhood friend, Bal, but keeps on denying him when it’s too close to comfort because of fear of abandonment and betrayal. It is lyrical and atmospheric but has a concrete character narrative.
