A Fissure (離散)

A reflection of contradiction and struggle among family members takes place during the very last week before the eldest son, Kao-wei, is moving out from home.

Kao-wei found his first job after he discharged from the army and this granted him an opportunity to move out. However, ever since he learned the news and announced his leaving, he’d been torn apart for the whole week. His younger brother’s underage girlfriend (under 16 in Taiwan) got pregnant and his Mom was under serious health condition, and these all happened in one week alone. He constantly questioned himself about the decision.

The whole movie is all about the week-long events, commencing and concluding at the same dining table of the family.
