A Farewell To An Old Friend

With the government efforts in modernising the public transport system, old infrastructure makes way for brand new innovations.

The C151 First-Generation MRT Trains, having served Singapore since 1987, is slated for retirement and a big majority of them will be taken apart for scrap.

This short documents the disposal process of these old workhorses with a modicum of artistic integrity. In other words, a tribute to what most Singaporeans would think as an insignificant but still very important part of everyday life.

Without the MRT, how else would we get to where we need to be now?
