Founded in 2001, the Department of Visual Studies (VIS) at Kongju Nat’l Univ. in South Korea provides an interdisciplinary education program encompassing broadcasting, film, commercials, digital content, and others.
Based on the motto “Think it, Visualize it,” VIS aims to cultivate brilliant and enthusiastic students who have liberal arts backgrounds, logical-thinking skills, business and marketing savvy, and aesthetic senses. Along with a systematic 4-year undergraduate course, robust MFA and MA programs in Visual Studies are offered.
Since 2006, VIS annually holds a nationwide film contest, titled KUFF (Kongju University Film Festival). At the festival, a variety of outstanding work, including prize-winning, invited, and internal graduation movies, are officially shown in theaters.
