The Guardian Of Pura Beji

Pura Beji is one of the most important temples in Bali, because its function is as "penyengker", or "guardian of water sources" in Bali. Pura Beji is usually located on the banks of the river or near the spring. The Balinese recognise it as a place of purification of pralingga (the symbols of God) before a great ceremony is performed in the mock temple. The word "Beji" itself in Balinese means bathhouse.

Lately, some temples have experienced disturbance due to changes in the surrounding environment. These types of disturbances include the wasting of water flowing in some of Pura Beji's showers due to the loss of trees in the upstream area and the increasing number of houses around the temple that suck underground water through the wells (based on Jro Mangku Wija, Pemangku Pura Beji Kesiman).

This film will tell the existence of Pura Beji, related functions, spiritual activities, and threats that exist through the narrative Jro Mangku Wija, who was spiritually appointed as a guardian of Pura Beji in Kesiman
