That afternoon before they went to see the pandas, a young couple from Chengdu, China struggles to build a perfect home in Singapore. As she adapts and make herself more Singaporean, he finds himself drifting between Singapore and his motherland. As the dream of becoming a Singaporean keeps seeming more and more remote, they decide to see the pandas.
