Tami-aw is a docu-narrative film about the journey of a less fortunate widow Louigina “Igi” on her way to claim cash aid from the government.

She has two children: Ondoy, a 5 year old boy, and Aning, 8 years old.They have been struggling to survive amidst the difficulties and challenges in life particularly their day to day survival and financial obligations/debts left by her late husband.

Until such time, a financial assistance was given to aid their helpless situation.She was chosen as 4P’s recipient but one time on her way to claim the monetary aid, she was mistreated by Thelma who offered help in operating Automated Teller Machine (ATM) but asked payment afterwards. She was also asked to give some amount to a Kagawad (councilor) who helped her to be a 4P’s recipient.

Such aid was supposed to be an educational support but it turns out to be used to support their survival. Is there any other way to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty of a Filipino family? And how do we solve mistreatment of persons in authority towards the helpless and the needy?
