See You Again, Lillian (再見莉莉安)

“Flowers grow, flowers wilt. The time it takes for a maple leaf to turn red is enough for me to experience my whole life.” This quote summarises Soko’s feelings of the past year. Soko was a poor author from Japan. He met Lillian in Hong Kong. Even though he knew Lillian was going to pass away in less than a year, Soko still decided to be with her. Before her death, Lilian told Soko to spread her ashes under a tree with red leaves so that red leaves could remind him of her. The future was uncertain for Soko. After Lilian’s tragic death, Soko wondered what he should leave behind - Lilian or the memories.
