Save Our Forest Giants

Since 2000, every three days, one Sumatran elephant dies. This situation is worsened by the deadly virus, Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpes Virus (EEHV), which attacks and kills baby elephants, aged from 1-10 years old. The virus attacks in a matter of days or even hours. No vaccine or treatment for this virus has been found to date. This deters efforts to breed Sumatran elephants from the Conservation Response Unit (CRU) in Tangkahan, North Sumatra.
