During the martial law in Aceh (1998 – 2003) the possession of Indonesian ID by Aceh residents was a different story. This special ID varied from the regular ID issued by the government, both by its design or the information written on it. In "Identity", the filmmaker tries to recapture his traumatic experience when he possessed this special ID through animation presentation.
