In the internet of things, there are all kinds of stories being shared around. As much as there are negative ones, there are a lot of positive stories that often make people shout,
“faith in humanity is restored!”
And it’s these little “grassroots” stories that touch us in our daily lives, bringing us hope even in challenging times. At times, people are inspired to do similar good deeds to others, “paying it forward” in ways of their own.
With the sharing of these stories, it warms the cockles of our hearts to know that our society is still one with warmth and love.
However, sometimes things might not seem as it is.
For example, a video clip on social media of a group of boys seemingly laughing at a stern-looking autistic kid could invite bashing from netizens and even social judgement.
But, there is always another side to the story. What we see from the video clip could actually be something good happening in reality.
More often than not, netizens judge things and jump to conclusions without attempting to look into the full picture.
I hope that through this series, it will spark a thought in the audience to see things from different perspectives, to see the greater good of things, especially in such a fast-moving digital landscape.
