Chapter X (Kabanata Ekis)

Pepe, a young revolutionary writer, is having a dilemma with his latest novel, feeling uninspired by the tragedies happening around him, he finds himself spending time at his favorite place, a small hut by a serene lake, with a certain girl he knew very well, Salome. Pepe confides his uncertainties and fears with Salome but the girl does not want to tolerate his childish whims. Instead, Salome pushes him to work on his novel and tells him what he doesn’t want to tell himself, that he has the responsibility to write the novel that will help his countrymen realize their worth, a novel that will inspire them to aspire for liberty. This short film is like an ode to the lost chapter of Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere, the supposedly Chapter 25 but is well known to most historians as Chapter X.
