Seeing Voices

The journey of an unforgiving daughter, Cassie, who has to deal with her once overbearing single mother, Megan, who suffers from schizophrenia and has not accepted that her husband has passed on. Megan has a hallucination and believes that by taking part in a talent showcase, she will be able to reunite with her husband. The already strained relationship between daughter and mother deteriorated further as a result of their clashing views regarding the talent showcase. Cassie eventually relents to her mother’s request, after a major relapse from Megan.

The daughter and mother embark on a journey of discovery and healing while practising for the competition. The final dance, infusing elements of contemporary dance and parkour, is emblematic of the mother-daughter relationship: Megan representing the elegance of contemporary dance while Cassie’s vigour and rebellious nature is demonstrated by the elements of parkour.

However, in the midst of practice, Megan has a severe relapse. Will she make it to the competition? And will Cassie forgive her mother for her past misdeeds?
