Man's Best Friend

For the tens of thousands of Singaporeans who share their lives and homes with dogs, one thing is for certain. A dog is more than a pet, a dog is family.

In this intimate documentary portrait, we explore the relationship between dog and owner through the eyes of four diverse Singapore residents who, though their experiences may vary, have all learned one thing; that owning a dog will change your life.

Four people, four dogs, four unique stories.

Director Statement:

"No two dogs share the same story.

MAN’S BEST FRIEND: A DOGUMENTARY looks at shedding a light on four different stories through the eyes of Singapore’s loyal canine companions, and the intricate relationships they share with their human family.

With the dawn of a pandemic that brought about waves of uncertainty, 2020 had been an especially hard year for many of us. The idea of introducing a film like MAN’S BEST FRIEND: A DOGUMENTARY came to us at a time when we felt the growing importance of sharing a little more love and a little more compassion to the world.

Leia, Nikkou, Whisky and Frisbee have showered upon us, mere strangers, a lot of love in such a short period of time; and we hope that same kindness and affection we’ve experienced transcends through screens and time.
