It is the eve of Chinese New Year. An old father reminisces about the past - a time when his son was a young boy who loved to paint and their relationship was good. However, the son’s poor academic results led to the father taking away his artworks which he saw as a distraction from school. He disciplined the son harshly, irreparably straining their relationship.
The old father soon passes away before he and his son can reconcile. In mourning, the son unexpectedly learns that his father had kept all the paintings from his childhood and realises that family relationships are often more complex than they seem.
