Viddsee Juree Awards is a competition held to celebrate jury’s picks of Asian short films from all genres: fiction, documentary and animation.

In this second edition of Viddsee Juree Awards, Filipino filmmakers will be eligible for an opportunity for their films to be watched and judged by a panel of international jury. Each short film shortlisted for the competition will have the opportunity to be watched by millions online on and selected for film screenings around various cities in the Philippines.

This competition is part of Viddsee’s commitment to celebrate and support filmmakers and film communities in Asia.

Winner of Viddsee Juree (Silver Award) will win a Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel worth US$995!

A 5-day Film Immersion Course in LA

Motion Picture Association will offer the Gold winner a 5-day Film Immersion Course in Los Angeles. The 5-day course includes a series of meetings, lectures and film events with production companies and film studios in Los Angeles, designed to provide an exclusive and informative introduction to the Hollywood film and television industry. The course will include a visit to the American Film Market, opportunities to present and pitch your projects to industry professionals, and network with other filmmakers from around the world. The Course will take place in November 2018.

Creative Cloud Subscriptions

Adobe will offer the Gold & Silver winners a 1-year Creative Cloud Subsciption worth US$560 each and they will also offer the remaining 8 finalist filmmakers a 1-year Adobe Premiere Pro Single App subscription worth US$220 each.

DCP Conversion Service

Crowning Glory Post Production will be offering DCP conversion for all 10 short film finalists.

Portable Hard Drives

Winner of Viddsee Juree (Gold Award) will win a LaCie Porsche Mobile drive 2TB worth US$169.

Winner of Viddsee Juree (Silver Award) will win a LaCie Portable Drive 1TB (Apple exclusive model) worth US$149.

Microphones and Audio Accessories

Loïc Valceschini

Born in 1989 in Lausanne (Switzerland), Loïc Valceschini has a master degree in film studies at Université de Lausanne. In 2010, he was selected as an alumni at the Talents Press of the Berlinale. After coordinating the dist ribution and programming sector of the Cinémathèque suisse (Swiss Film Archive), he was hired in 2013 as a programmer for the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF). Since 2015, he also works as coordinator and programmer for Locarno's Critic's Week. He writes film related articles for various outlets (ScreenAnarchy, Film Exposure). In 2016, he co-wrote Rex, Roxy, Royal, a book on Swiss cinema theaters.

Marcus Manh Cuong Vu

Marcus Manh Cuong Vu works as a film programmer, producer and critic in Ho Chi Minh City. He was the founder and festival director of Yxine Film Fest (2010-2014). He actively contributes to the development of Vietnamese independent cinema, especially in presenting shorts and features from Vietnam to the world.

Antoinette Jadaone

Antoinette Jadaone is a writer and director, known for penning “Six Degrees of Separation” (Best Screenplay, 2011 Cinema One Originals Film Festival), “Extra” (Best Screenplay, 2013 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival), “English Only, Please” (Best Screenplay, 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival) and “That Thing Called Tadhana” (Third Prize, Palanca Awards for Excellence in Literature), which she eventually directed in 2014 becoming one of the highest grossing Filipino independent film of all time. She has been dubbed as the “Blockbuster Hugot Director of the Philippines”, and continues to see short filmmaking as her soul mate.

General Guidelines

  • Films must be completed after 1st January 2015 till present

  • Films submitted from 19th July 2017 onwards will be eligible for Juree competition

  • Films can be released theatrically or available online (i.e. YouTube, Vimeo) prior to festival competition

  • Films can be from all genres: fiction, documentary, animation

  • Films can be presented in their original native language/dialect. Non-English language films must have English-language subtitles hard-burned in the video or provided in .srt format with original copy

  • Viddsee does not accept works in progress or trailers

  • Duration of films must be no longer than 30 minutes (including end credits)

  • Films selected for Viddsee Juree showcase will be streamed online on Viddsee’s platform and they will not be allowed for a takedown for a period of one year

  • Film submission deadline: 24th September, 2017

To qualify, the film must meet two of the three following standards:

  • The Director is a current Philippines Resident or a Philippines Native

  • The Executive Producer and/or Producer and/or Screenwriter must be a Philippines native, or resident

  • At least 70% of the film was shot in the Philippines

Submissions Guidelines

Preferred File Format

  • MP4 or MOV

  • H.264

  • At least 720p or higher in resolution.

Select One Of The Following Methods in Submitting Your Film

Here are the few steps to submit your film:

    Go to

    Sign up for a Viddsee Creator account using your Facebook or email account

    The verification email will take about 1-2 mins to reach your inbox. If you don’t see it in your inbox, you can check your spam folder.

    Fill up your personal details to complete the film license agreement

    Click on the button Add new film to start uploading your film

    Make sure to:

    • done upload the film video file
    • done fill in your film info
    • done attach any screenshots or posters for the film

    For programming consideration, Viddsee accepts online screeners without any watermark/ logo. To do so, fill in your video file link currently hosted on i.e. WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox link. Vimeo or YouTube links for the complete film are acceptable too.

    Indicate jureePH2017 in the “Referral” field box

    During submission, click on “Additional Info” tab.

    Under “Additional Info” tab, type in jureePH2017 in the ‘referral’ field box at the bottom.

Overall Process

After submitting your film, there will be a selection process by Viddsee’s curation team. After the selection is completed, we will send an email notification to the selected filmmakers. If your film is selected for Viddsee Juree, it will be screened online on platform on 30th Oct 2017, and added to a channel collection named “Viddsee Juree Philippines”. Out of these selected films, Viddsee’s curation team will select the top 10 films to further participate in the in-competition segment. The winning films from the in-competition segment will be chosen by the Jury.
