The Ra(men): Knead and Pull

Jack and Rai learn from The Flying Squirrel regular Kohji-san that there are all kinds of ramen noodle textures to take into account. Much to Head Chef Juliette’s dismay, the Duo decide to give noodle-making a go, causing havoc in her kitchen. When that fails, Jack decides to pirate the techniques of a local La Mien hawker, but still, their efforts end up in failure. Jack decides it is time to convince Juliette to help them. As he will soon discover, it takes more than just a “please and thank you” to get her to jump on the bandwagon.

Director Statement: Ramen is more than a story about the ever-popular noodle originating from Japan. It is a story about the Singapore people, a celebration of Singaporean culture, heritage and the many individuals who embody the Singaporean spirit through their willingness to adapt and develop a uniquely Singaporean creation. Whether it is food or life, the protagonists and like many other Singaporeans alike, find a way.
